Sadie Takes A Swim!

Valerie, Carson and Brynnley invited us to go swimming and we are really glad that we went. My parents decided to come along too to watch all of the grandkids swimming. Sadie loved the water, I thought she probably would because she loves the bath, but I did not imagine she would like it as much as she did. I put her on her back and she would kick her legs, I put her on her belly and she would kick her legs (and try to drink the water, which I quickly stopped!!), she was like a little fish! Val even taught me how to put safely get her comfortable with going under the water, so that they are not scared when they are older, it didn't even seem to really phase her. I can't wait to take Devin back to see our little fishy, and isn't she so cute in her suit! Above is a picture of her in the little water swings.

Of course I had to get a picture of us before the big swim!

This is not a swimming picture, but I had to put it in. This is Sadie's new favorite position, I tried for weeks to get a picture of it and I finally did. Her toes sure taste good!
Lately she has been quite the little mover and while I was making dinner yesterday this is where I found her. She had rolled under the coffee table and was SO proud of herself, she was talking, kicking her legs and laughing. Her expression was like, "Hey Mom, look what I did!" What a cutie, I had to get a picture!

My First Mother's Day

I have wanted to be a mom for as long as I can remember and this mother's day I felt so blessed! Ever since Sadie was born I have felt truly honored to be a mother and ecspecially to be her mother. Devin made the day really special for me. A few weeks ago we got a new couch, which we have been wanting for a while, but were just waiting to the right one to come along. We got an amazing deal (it was originally $1200 and we got it for $400 because they are no longer making this model anymore, so the store no longer wants it on their floor) at Gardener Village, it is so pretty and so comfortable, we love it! So the couch was my mother's day, tax return money and our anniversary gift, which I am really happy about! But on mother's day morning Devin and Sadie gave me a sweet card with Sadie's hand traced and the movie Marley and Me. Then all day Devin treated me like a queen, making meals for me, cleaning up dishes after me, changing every diaper of Sadie's and the list goes on, I felt really special. Thank you sweetie for making me feel so special on that day and everyday! When we were sitting at church, I looked around and looked at my little family and I felt so proud to be a mother and wife. I have such a wonderful life and I love it!! I am also really grateful for a wonderful mother and mother-in-law who are such good examples to me of amazing mothers. Thank you for all you do! So I had a wonderful, happy, perfect first Mother's Day.

The new couch!

I love the suttle floral design in the fabric.

Sadie is 6 Months!!

Sadie, you are 6 months old and I can not believe it! Time has flown by so quickly and as we went to your doctos appointment yesterday I realized what a big girl you really are becoming. You are now 16 pounds 9 oz (60th percentile) and 27 inches (88th percentile) long, I can't believe that you are so tall! You are now rolling over from your back to your stomach and wiggling your way around. You sometimes forget how to get back over to your back and yell to me until I come and flip you back over. You loving playing with your toys and ecspecially love chewing on all of your toys; your favorites are your rings, your stacking cups, the vibrating star and the telephone. You love my hair and get mad if you can not pull on it! Your mobile in your crib still always makes you smile, but you have learned how to grab the animals and stop them from going around in circles, you think it is so funny, I think it might be time to put it away because you are so strong you could break it! You also think that being bounced around, thrown up in the air or eating your belly is funny (ecspecially when Daddy does it)! We love your little laugh and your sweet voice, it makes us smile. You are starting to sit up all by yourself without me having to be right behind you (though every once in a while you loose your balance and so I surround you with pillows so that the fall isn't as hard). You have also started to eat rice cereal and love every bite of it. I love watching you every minute of the day, I love watching you discover life and see everything for the first time. I love being your mom and want you to stay small forever! What an amazing and special 6 months this has been, I love you Sadie!

Love, Mommy (and ofcourse Daddy)
XOXOXOXOXO

David and Jocelyn's Wedding

We had a wonderful weekend, Devin's twin brother was married to Jocelyn and it was a perfect day! We are so happy Jocelyn has joined our family! We went down on Friday morning to my parents house where I put together their wedding flowers. Then that afternoon we were able to go to BYU to see Jocelyn graduate. Then that evening we had a dinner at Devin's parents house with all of Devin's family and Jocelyn's to celebrate and to get to know one another before the wedding. Then Saturday was the wedding day. They had a beautiful ceremony in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple and it was amazing to be there and witness their wedding. They both so happy all day and we were all so happy for them! Then they had a wonderful luncheon that afternoon. It was a special day and it was so great to be able be a part of it, Congratulations David and Jocelyn!

Our little family at the luncheon. Below is David, Devin's parents and Sadie.

Easter Weekend

We had a great Easter weekend! On Saturday we had Easter with my family, we had a really fun Easter egg hunt in the basement because it was raining (but I thought it was a fun new challenge) and then had dinner. Grandma, Sadie and Carson

Sadie after the hunt playing with her egg.

A cute one of Sadie and Daddy during the hunt, as you can tell neither one of them was too concerned about getting a lot eggs, but they did have fun being together.

Sadie checking out all of her goodies from the hunt!

Sadie loving the bunny from her Great Grandparents and her puppy from her Grandparents, thank you everyone for the sweet gifts.

Then we spent Easter Sunday with the Smith's. We went up to Layton to hear Devin's cousin give his mission farewell talk and then spent the afternoon with Devin's dad's side of the family. We had a really fun afternoon being with family.
Sadie and Daddy Easter morning. This is Sadie's Easter basket, she loved her little duck and her spring outfit that the bunny brought to her.

Our picture in our Easter clothes, Sadie looked so adorable in her Easter dress.

A cute Easter picture of David (Devin's twin) and his fiance Jocelyn, we can't wait for the big day next Friday!

An Easter picture of Grandma Smith and Sadie.

I am grateful for the Savior Jesus Christ, for His Atoning sacrifice for us and the blessing of the Resurrection. I am thankful for this Easter season when I can take a special moment to pause and recognize how truly grateful I am for the Savior and the gift He has given to me. I love this time of year when spring is arriving and all of the trees are beginning to bud and bloom. I always think spring is a special time of year as we celebrate new life, I think this year I am ecspecially grateful because we have new life in our home, Happy Easter.

Easter Eggs

I love to dye Easter eggs every year, so we decided this week it would be a fun activity for our Family Home Evening. We didn't let Sadie near the dye because she is grabbing everything these days, but she did have fun watching the process and then holding the eggs after they dried. Devin dying an egg for Sadie and her standing by to make sure he does it just right.

Sadie gripping her egg pretty tight, we were a little worried she would crack it.

My favorite picture of the night, what a cute girl!

Here is Sadie and I and the egg I dyed for her, I think she liked it!

The three of us, I love my family!

Happy Birthday Mom!

Happy Birthday Mom! Yesterday was my mom's birthday and Sadie and I took her to lunch and then we went shopping at Nordstrom. It was a very fun girls day! We had her birthday dinner on Sunday night, here are a few pictures from her party. Happy Birthday Mom, we love you!Getting ready to blow out the birthday candles! Devin and I made the cake and I even attempted to write on it. Val makes such beautiful cakes, so I was a little intimidated that I was in charge of the cake. I thought it was cute, but definitely not anything close to Val's masterpieces.
Kyle and Sadie having some fun. It was her first ride on the shoulders and she looks a little nervous. My cute cousin Hannah and her boyfriend Michael, that we all love.
Carson just loves Sadie and he wanted to hold her, they looked so cute!
All of the Ford grandchildren; Carson, Brynnley and Sadie.
