Our HOUSE!

Yesterday we closed on our house and it is now officially OURS!!! We are SO EXCITED, we LOVE IT!! We are so happy to have been able to have found a house we love in Kaysville because we like it so much here. We love the little neighborhood we will be moving into and our neighbor already called to see if we needed any help, I told Devin this and he said, "And that is why we are living in Kaysville, because everyone is so friendly!" We hope that if any of you are our direction that you will stop in and stay, we have 4 bedrooms now, so room for guests and we would love to have you come and stay! We will be doing some painting and a few other things, then we will be moving in mid March. I will post pictures once we get settled! I can't believe it's finally ours!

A Special Baptism Day!

This past Friday was a very special day for my family, my Grandpa was baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints! It was such a special day, one that I will never forget. My Grandmother has been a member of the church her whole life. My mom and aunt and families are all members of the church, so we have been waiting for this day for a long time. We are so glad that my Grandpa has joined the church and that my mom's whole side of the family are all members now. My Grandpa has of course known a lot about the church in his life, but just over the past several months has come to know for himself that it is the true church. Devin and I have loved watching this transformation take place and have had many wonderful conversations with him. My sweet Grandma has been waiting for this day for a very long time (52 years to be exact!) and what a blessing it was to watch her on Friday.

My dad baptized my Grandpa, Devin and my cousin Hannah's husband Micheal were the witnesses. From the beginning of the program there was such a special feeling in the room and then as I watched my Grandpa be baptized into the church I was overcome with warmth and a reconfirmation that this is the true church.

My Grandpa and Grandma, I love how happy they look!
My brother was able to confirm my Grandpa and gave him a wonderful and sweet blessing. As Kyle gave this blessing I think the whole room had tears in their eyes. It was such a special moment and their was such a wonderful feeling the room. The picture above is all of our family that was able to be there. I am so glad that my Grandpa made the choice to join the church and I am grateful for the blessing to have been there and feel the wonderful feelings that I felt that day!

15 months - Crashing, Dressing Up and Dancing!

Crashing! (of course with her giraffe)
Dressing Up!

Dancing! (and dressing up)

Sadie is 15 months old as of last week and I can't believe how old she is! She is SO much fun and we are loving her to pieces. She is talking a lot more these days, she says; dog, mama, dada, grandma, bea (bear), uck (duck), gan (again), more, bye, hi, no, wow, uh oh, and I am sure more, but that is all I can think of at the moment.
She is so animated and excited about everything these days. She gets so excited about the littlest things which I love, like letting her drink out of a glass (even though I only put a tiny bit of water in it and she just spills it all over herself), and letting her eat with her spoon (she wants to feed herself all of the time now which gets pretty messy, but I have a system that works where I have a spoon and so does she so she gets some food in)!
She has a become a one nap child these days and I am really liking it. It was getting really hard to get her to go down for her naps, so I decided to switch to one and now she just crashes and is so easy to get her to sleep.
She has discovered dressing up and is loving it! We started to brush her teeth and so I sit her on the bathroom counter to do this, well she then discovered all of my stuff! She wants to put on my jewelry, headbands, bracelets, and much more! We are having a lot of fun! In the last picture she even has my bathing suit bottoms on around her neck like a necklace, which is one of her favorite dress up items! She is cracking my up and I can't always get my camera fast enough.
We also have a dance party about everyday! Her current favorite CD is Lady Antebellum, I try the Disney CD's, but she says "No, No, No" and shakes her head because she wants Lady Antebellum - it cracks me up! Then when the music gets going she gets movin- she usually wants us to pick her up and spin her, etc. She also likes dancing in her sunglasses, which she just discovered from last summer and keeps them on the whole time! She loves dancing with all her stuffed animals and we have a blast everyday dancing it up!
She is getting so big so fast and I can't believe it! She is becoming really strong willed and determined. Some days it's her way or no way and that doesn't really fly with me. Like the other day we had our first public melt down in Old Navy, with kicking, screaming, and a lot of anger because she had to get back in the stroller after she kept running away! It has been pretty fun! My mom says I was the same way, so Devin in blaming me! I am just hoping she tones it down a little bit! I like that she is independent and doesn't give up when she wants something, but I also like it when she listens to me! We shall see what the near future brings!
We love our little Sadie and are SO LUCKY that SHE IS OURS!

Disneyland - January 2010

In the beginning of January my parents took Sadie and I to Disneyland! We had a fun trip! Sadie got sick with a fever the night before we left, but every time we gave her Motrin her fever would come right down and she would act fine, so we decided to still go! The first couple days she was pretty sick, but then the fever broke and she had a lot of fun! We stayed in a Disney Resort which was really nice because Val and I could walk back everyday and put the girls down for their naps! It worked out great, we loved the hotel! Sadie loved the parades, she wanted to be held because she was a little nervous of the characters, but loved the music! She would dance and clap her hands, she was SO cute! Her favorite rides were Dumbo and It's a Small World. She LOVED Toon Town. She had a huge smile on her face the whole time. I let her out of the stroller to run around and everything was at her level and her size, she just loved it! She wandered into Mickey's House and my mom and I followed her. She loved all of the little furniture and stuff they have through out his house, but she didn't know that when you got to the back of the house Mickey would be there, she was not a big fan of meeting him! It was funny because she would see Pluto and Goofy and say "Dog" and go after them, but when we got up to them she was really nervous and didn't want to see them, funny girl! It was least crowded it has ever been when we have gone, the longest we had to wait for anything was 10 minutes and that was the roller coasters and things, we mostly just walked on to everything, it was perfect! We did miss Devin A LOT and can't wait until he can come with us! Thank you Mom and Dad for such a fun fun trip!

In front of Toy Story Mania, what a fun ride!

The kids in a car in toon town, can you see that Sadie is loving life!

Christmas 2009

Our little Family in front of the Tree

All of the girls in the Ford family on Christmas Eve.

Sadie Christmas moring in front of the tree.

Sadie's favorite gift from Santa, her stroller and dolly. As you can see her ball is in there and a few other odds and ends, she loads it up with anything and everything!

All the Smith grand kids reading a bedtime story with Grandpa.

We had a wonderful Christmas this year! We were not sure how much Sadie would understand on Christmas morning, but we were pleasantly surprised with how much she like her gifts and the whole day! On Christmas Eve we went down to my parents house and had a really fun night. We had dinner, went & looked at Christmas lights, acted out the Nativity story (It was so fun to watch Brynnley be Mary, she was so excited to hold her baby and be the mom! Sadie and Carson were angels and the rest of us filled in the other parts.), read a new Christmas book, got our pajamas on and got ready for bed. The next morning Sadie woke up about 7:00 and we went up and opened her presents from Santa and from us. She got books, the Leap Frog animal sound fridge magnets (which were a hit and still are!), yogurt melts in her stocking (we could have stopped with those and she would have been happy, she pretty much ate the whole bag while opening presents, silly girl!), books, clothes, and her favorite gift of all was her stroller and her baby doll. We were afraid that she would be a little to young for the stroller, but it was her favorite thing. All day on Christmas she kept loading up all of her stuff in the stroller and pushing it around, it was really cute! Devin got me a new Camelback Backpack which I love love love! I got Devin a Swiss Army knife and a sweater and few smaller items! After we did our little family Christmas, Kyle and Val and the kids and my grandparents came from their houses and we opened all of our gifts with my family. Our big gift from my parents was a new TV and we are SO grateful, thanks mom and dad! Sadie got so many fun toys, she is one lucky girl, thank you for all of the wonderful stuff everyone!! Then we had a very relaxing day just playing with toys, eating, talking and being together - my favorite kind of Christmas!
We spent several fun days with my family, we went swimming, went to see Princess and the Frog, played a lot of games and just had fun being together! Then a few days before New Years we went over to stay with Devin's family and had a lot of fun. We celebrated Christmas with them and had a good time! We spent New Year's eve together having yummy soup and playing games. We had a Bunko tournament, I had never played Bunko and had a really fun time! I actually ended up winning, as you know I am really competitive, so I was pretty excited! June and Nicole even had prizes, it was a fun night! It was so fun to be able to have a child this Christmas Season and celebrate with her. We loved watching her eyes light up and her excitement over the little things. We had a great holiday and feel so blessed!
