We Are Having a BOY!!

I know it has been forever since I posted on our blog, but life caught up with me and the blog kind of fell through the cracks! Hopefully here soon I will update, but for now I wanted to share our exciting news. I am expecting our second child and it is a BOY!!! I am 21 weeks along, he is due March 27th. In the ultrasound he looked healthy and happy. Sadie is excited about having a brother and we can't wait to meet our little guy. I am feeling great, I was a little sicker in the beginning this time, but at about 11 weeks I started to feel normal again. This pregnancy has definitely gone faster than with Sadie, but I think it is because I am trying to keep up with her and have less time to think about everything. I am feeling him move around and I can tell he is getting stronger everyday, Devin even felt him move the other day. We are just so excited to have another little one join our family!!

Summertime Fun

What we have been up so far this summer.....SWIMMING - lots and lots of swimming! Sadie is turning into a fish, between swimming at Cherry Hill and for the past 2 weeks we have been taking Mommy and Me swim lessons! Sadie has loved swim lessons and every morning she wants to get her swimming suit on and says "water." Her favorite part of swim lessons are jumping off the side of the pool to me and blowing bubbles in the water. Usually by the time we get home for her nap she is tired and I like it!

PLAYING IN THE YARD AND AT THE PARK - we are loving playing outside in the backyard with bubbles, chalk, and in the tree swing. We also loving picking food in our garden, Sadie gets so anxious to pick stuff that she keeps picking out green strawberries and eating them. We also have been playing at the park with friends a lot, she loves the slides and the bridges.

POPSICLES - it is definitely summer because we just have to eat a Popsicle everyday! If you haven't tried the "Popsicle Mighty Minis" you should. They are for little kids and are the size of a lipstick, they are slow melt and just perfect for little Sadie.

PARTIES - here is Sadie at Carson's birthday party eating a cupcake, do you think she liked it? We had a blast at the party jumping on the trampoline, eating cake and playing with cousins.

TREATS - we love making treats at our house and I love my little helper!

WAGON RIDES - we love our wagon and take rides almost daily. Here are Sadie and her friend Leah on the Lagoon Trail taking a ride and eating a snack.

FEEDING THE DUCKS - we love feeding the ducks and Sadie asks to do it almost daily.
We are loving summer and having a blast!

"Bunga Bay Baby"

For our nephew Carson's 5th Birthday my side of the family all went to Cowabunga Bay, a water park here in Utah. As I was walking in holding our niece Brynnley's hand she just kept saying to me, "Bunga Bay Baby!!", I loved it! They kids were so excited, as you can see from the excitement on their little faces. Sadie was so excited she wouldn't even take her nap, we could hear her in her crib saying,"Cars, Brynnie, Popi, Water" and then laugh. It was such a fun day, thanks Mom and Dad!The kids waiting to go into the park, so excited! I think this is the best picture we have ever taken of them, everyone was looking and everyone was smiling, what an accomplishment!

Sadie kissing the birthday boy! Carson would lay on the cement to get warm when he got out of the water and Sadie just kepting going over and kissing him for no reason, we all thought it was so cute!

Our family!

Cute little McKay decked out for the pool, he was so good and happy the whole time.

My Dad and Kyle
What a fun day, we can't wait for Cherry Hill and another water day with everyone!

Father's Day!

Sadie, Devin and my Dad at the Zoo on the Carousel
We had a wonderful Father's Day! Devin was able to sleep in while Sadie and I made French toast with strawberries for Daddy. She colored a card and then we woke Devin up for breakfast and gifts. Sadie had picked out these dog water squirters for Devin at the store to give to him and she was so excited for him to see them. Before he was really even awake she was yelling "Daddy, dogs' and trying to hand them to him. Once he had a look at them she wanted them back immediately, I knew at the store when she picked them out for Daddy that they might have really been for her!! We also got Devin tickets to a Bees Baseball game to go with the guys in my family. That evening most of the Smith family came to our house for a bbq, it was fun to have everyone see our house and all be together. We had a really good day and I am so grateful for the Dads in my life. Devin is such an amazing father, Sadie is one lucky girl. He loves her so much and can't wait to play with her everyday when he gets home from work. We are so blessed to have him. I am also grateful for a wonderful Dad and Father in law, we are so lucky to have them as our dads and grandpa!

National Doughnut Day!

Sadie and I went to Krispy Kreme on Friday for National Doughnut Day and got our free doughnuts. As you can see someone really enjoyed their doughnut! She also really enjoyed watching them make the doughnuts, she kept pacing up and down the glass where they made them saying, "Ooh Mama doughnuts!" Thanks Krispy Kreme!

A Wonderful Mother's Day!

My mom, Sadie, Grandma and I before church on Mother's Day in front of our house- I love this picture of us! We had a wonderful Mother's Day! My day started out great with Devin and Sadie letting me sleep in, that always makes a day a little bit better. Then they made me breakfast and gave me a hanging basket and a homemade card from Sadie. Then my parents and grandparents came up to our house to go to church with us. It was fun to have visitors with us at church and to have a few more hands to manage Sadie. Church is during Sadie's nap time and everyone kept saying that since she was always moving that if she stopped then she would fall asleep! Then after church Kyle, Val and the kids and my cousin Hannah and her husband Michael all joined us for a barbeque in our backyard. Devin and I decided that for our anniversary, mothers day and fathers day, we would combined it all and get one big gift. We got a patio set and barbeque. We love them and it was so fun to have everyone together at our house. We have a big tree in our backyard which gives a lot of shade, so it was perfect weather for the evening. We had a great day and thanks to our family for coming to us! I am so grateful to have such a wonderful mother who is kind, caring, loving, supportive, fun, and considerate. Thank you for being an amazing mom and example to me, I love you so much. I am truly grateful to be a mother, I feel blessed everyday to be Sadie's mom!

Happy 3rd Anniversary to US!

Today is our 3rd Anniversary and I wanted to tell Devin how much I love him! Marrying you was the best decision that I have ever made. Thanks for being my husband and best friend. Thank you for making me happier that I ever knew that I could be. What a wonderful and special day we had 3 years ago, I will always cherish that day as one of the best of my life. I am grateful for the wonderful years we have had together and for the ones we have ahead, I am so glad that I get to spend them with you. I love you!

Sadie is 18 Months Old!

I know that it has been forever since I have posted anything (remodeling, moving and loving our new house, holidays, flowers for 3 weddings - kind of took over my life), but today is an important day and I wanted to make sure that I remembered it! My baby is 18 months old, I can't believe she is 1 and half, where has all of the time gone!

Sadie,
You are so much fun! You make each day fun at our house and we are so glad that you are ours! You are talking so much- mostly about dogs, Cinderella, belle, food and going outside. You love Cinderella at the moment and want to watch her, color a picture of her, take a bath with your toys of her, pretty much if it involves Cinderella you love it! You love going to cousin Brynnley's house and playing all of her Cinderella stuff. You frequently say, "Rella, see Brynnley", I think you two will be best buds once you figure out how to share with each other! You also love your Cinderella shirt, even though it doesn't fit over your belly anymore you still drape it on your back or around your neck and still wear it. Speaking of your belly, you are 24 lbs (55%) and are in the 99 percentile for height- still wondering how you are my child.

You love to eat all of the time. Since Easter you have developed a great love for candy and are frequently coming up to me and saying, "nandy." You are also loving fruit snacks, I think you developed your deep love for them at grandpa and grandma ford's house where they let you eat 3 packs at a time! No wonder you love going to their house, just kidding! But you also still love the healthy food too, you love grapes, strawberries, peas, apples (or appies as you call them), carrots, and beans. Below is a picture of you with a your first pudding pack. I gave it to you with a spoon and then went to wash some dishes, I came back and this is how I found you! You had eaten most of it with the spoon, but were trying to lick out the bottom. Needless to say, we took a bath after a few pictures!

You are loving our new house, you love the space and are constantly running circles around the kitchen and the family room. You love the backyard and always say, "side" , for outside. You always want to be outside and are not liking this spring weather where it is warm and then cold. You love the playground, especially the slide, if we even pass a playground or house with a slide you want to get out immediately. You do not walk anywhere, but are always running. Your run is the cutest because your little legs fly out to the side as you run - we love it! You love the new wagon that we bought with your gift card to TOYS R US from great grandpa and grandma Ford (thank you so much) and want to go on walks all of the time. We go outside and you say "ride" and climb in your wagon, we are probably taking 2 to 3 walks a day- I am starting to walk enough with you that some days I don't even have to go running! Dogs are still your favorite and you are constantly standing at our front screen door trying to figure out a way to get out to see the dog across the street.

You love books right now, weather they are Elmo (or Ernie as you call him), Cinderella (rella), ABC, animals, touch and feel, Jesus books, you love them! We love that you are always finding the church books in the house and looking for the pictures of Jesus. As we turn the pages you say "Jesus" and get so excited for each picture of Him. You love the picture of Jesus and the lamb, but of course you think it is a dog which we think is pretty cute! You love stickers and sticker books - it is the best way to keep you occupied at church. You are starting to also love coloring with crayons and want to get in your highchair and color all of the time.

You are Miss Independent and love to do things on your own. You want to get up and down by yourself, put things together by yourself, turn things on by yourself, brush your teeth by yourself. Most of the time we love that you are independent, but sometimes if scares us a little bit because you are a climber and are kind of fearless. At the park you don't want help getting up or down, but love the high slides of course. We try to help you discretely, so that you don't get mad, but are there so that you don't fall and break something! You are friendly to strangers, like in the grocery store we are rolling along and you are waving and saying hi and bye to everyone. But when we introduce you to some one you become shy. We love your little personality!

(I love this picture of you, you can just see how independent and determined you are!)

Sadie, you are at such a fun age and I wish that we could just keep you small forever. You are going up way to fast for us! We love to watch you learn and go and keep us laughing each day. We love you more than we can express, we love you sweet girl!

Love,
Mommy and Daddy

Our HOUSE!

Yesterday we closed on our house and it is now officially OURS!!! We are SO EXCITED, we LOVE IT!! We are so happy to have been able to have found a house we love in Kaysville because we like it so much here. We love the little neighborhood we will be moving into and our neighbor already called to see if we needed any help, I told Devin this and he said, "And that is why we are living in Kaysville, because everyone is so friendly!" We hope that if any of you are our direction that you will stop in and stay, we have 4 bedrooms now, so room for guests and we would love to have you come and stay! We will be doing some painting and a few other things, then we will be moving in mid March. I will post pictures once we get settled! I can't believe it's finally ours!

A Special Baptism Day!

This past Friday was a very special day for my family, my Grandpa was baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints! It was such a special day, one that I will never forget. My Grandmother has been a member of the church her whole life. My mom and aunt and families are all members of the church, so we have been waiting for this day for a long time. We are so glad that my Grandpa has joined the church and that my mom's whole side of the family are all members now. My Grandpa has of course known a lot about the church in his life, but just over the past several months has come to know for himself that it is the true church. Devin and I have loved watching this transformation take place and have had many wonderful conversations with him. My sweet Grandma has been waiting for this day for a very long time (52 years to be exact!) and what a blessing it was to watch her on Friday.

My dad baptized my Grandpa, Devin and my cousin Hannah's husband Micheal were the witnesses. From the beginning of the program there was such a special feeling in the room and then as I watched my Grandpa be baptized into the church I was overcome with warmth and a reconfirmation that this is the true church.

My Grandpa and Grandma, I love how happy they look!
My brother was able to confirm my Grandpa and gave him a wonderful and sweet blessing. As Kyle gave this blessing I think the whole room had tears in their eyes. It was such a special moment and their was such a wonderful feeling the room. The picture above is all of our family that was able to be there. I am so glad that my Grandpa made the choice to join the church and I am grateful for the blessing to have been there and feel the wonderful feelings that I felt that day!

15 months - Crashing, Dressing Up and Dancing!

Crashing! (of course with her giraffe)
Dressing Up!

Dancing! (and dressing up)

Sadie is 15 months old as of last week and I can't believe how old she is! She is SO much fun and we are loving her to pieces. She is talking a lot more these days, she says; dog, mama, dada, grandma, bea (bear), uck (duck), gan (again), more, bye, hi, no, wow, uh oh, and I am sure more, but that is all I can think of at the moment.
She is so animated and excited about everything these days. She gets so excited about the littlest things which I love, like letting her drink out of a glass (even though I only put a tiny bit of water in it and she just spills it all over herself), and letting her eat with her spoon (she wants to feed herself all of the time now which gets pretty messy, but I have a system that works where I have a spoon and so does she so she gets some food in)!
She has a become a one nap child these days and I am really liking it. It was getting really hard to get her to go down for her naps, so I decided to switch to one and now she just crashes and is so easy to get her to sleep.
She has discovered dressing up and is loving it! We started to brush her teeth and so I sit her on the bathroom counter to do this, well she then discovered all of my stuff! She wants to put on my jewelry, headbands, bracelets, and much more! We are having a lot of fun! In the last picture she even has my bathing suit bottoms on around her neck like a necklace, which is one of her favorite dress up items! She is cracking my up and I can't always get my camera fast enough.
We also have a dance party about everyday! Her current favorite CD is Lady Antebellum, I try the Disney CD's, but she says "No, No, No" and shakes her head because she wants Lady Antebellum - it cracks me up! Then when the music gets going she gets movin- she usually wants us to pick her up and spin her, etc. She also likes dancing in her sunglasses, which she just discovered from last summer and keeps them on the whole time! She loves dancing with all her stuffed animals and we have a blast everyday dancing it up!
She is getting so big so fast and I can't believe it! She is becoming really strong willed and determined. Some days it's her way or no way and that doesn't really fly with me. Like the other day we had our first public melt down in Old Navy, with kicking, screaming, and a lot of anger because she had to get back in the stroller after she kept running away! It has been pretty fun! My mom says I was the same way, so Devin in blaming me! I am just hoping she tones it down a little bit! I like that she is independent and doesn't give up when she wants something, but I also like it when she listens to me! We shall see what the near future brings!
We love our little Sadie and are SO LUCKY that SHE IS OURS!

Disneyland - January 2010

In the beginning of January my parents took Sadie and I to Disneyland! We had a fun trip! Sadie got sick with a fever the night before we left, but every time we gave her Motrin her fever would come right down and she would act fine, so we decided to still go! The first couple days she was pretty sick, but then the fever broke and she had a lot of fun! We stayed in a Disney Resort which was really nice because Val and I could walk back everyday and put the girls down for their naps! It worked out great, we loved the hotel! Sadie loved the parades, she wanted to be held because she was a little nervous of the characters, but loved the music! She would dance and clap her hands, she was SO cute! Her favorite rides were Dumbo and It's a Small World. She LOVED Toon Town. She had a huge smile on her face the whole time. I let her out of the stroller to run around and everything was at her level and her size, she just loved it! She wandered into Mickey's House and my mom and I followed her. She loved all of the little furniture and stuff they have through out his house, but she didn't know that when you got to the back of the house Mickey would be there, she was not a big fan of meeting him! It was funny because she would see Pluto and Goofy and say "Dog" and go after them, but when we got up to them she was really nervous and didn't want to see them, funny girl! It was least crowded it has ever been when we have gone, the longest we had to wait for anything was 10 minutes and that was the roller coasters and things, we mostly just walked on to everything, it was perfect! We did miss Devin A LOT and can't wait until he can come with us! Thank you Mom and Dad for such a fun fun trip!

In front of Toy Story Mania, what a fun ride!

The kids in a car in toon town, can you see that Sadie is loving life!

Christmas 2009

Our little Family in front of the Tree

All of the girls in the Ford family on Christmas Eve.

Sadie Christmas moring in front of the tree.

Sadie's favorite gift from Santa, her stroller and dolly. As you can see her ball is in there and a few other odds and ends, she loads it up with anything and everything!

All the Smith grand kids reading a bedtime story with Grandpa.

We had a wonderful Christmas this year! We were not sure how much Sadie would understand on Christmas morning, but we were pleasantly surprised with how much she like her gifts and the whole day! On Christmas Eve we went down to my parents house and had a really fun night. We had dinner, went & looked at Christmas lights, acted out the Nativity story (It was so fun to watch Brynnley be Mary, she was so excited to hold her baby and be the mom! Sadie and Carson were angels and the rest of us filled in the other parts.), read a new Christmas book, got our pajamas on and got ready for bed. The next morning Sadie woke up about 7:00 and we went up and opened her presents from Santa and from us. She got books, the Leap Frog animal sound fridge magnets (which were a hit and still are!), yogurt melts in her stocking (we could have stopped with those and she would have been happy, she pretty much ate the whole bag while opening presents, silly girl!), books, clothes, and her favorite gift of all was her stroller and her baby doll. We were afraid that she would be a little to young for the stroller, but it was her favorite thing. All day on Christmas she kept loading up all of her stuff in the stroller and pushing it around, it was really cute! Devin got me a new Camelback Backpack which I love love love! I got Devin a Swiss Army knife and a sweater and few smaller items! After we did our little family Christmas, Kyle and Val and the kids and my grandparents came from their houses and we opened all of our gifts with my family. Our big gift from my parents was a new TV and we are SO grateful, thanks mom and dad! Sadie got so many fun toys, she is one lucky girl, thank you for all of the wonderful stuff everyone!! Then we had a very relaxing day just playing with toys, eating, talking and being together - my favorite kind of Christmas!
We spent several fun days with my family, we went swimming, went to see Princess and the Frog, played a lot of games and just had fun being together! Then a few days before New Years we went over to stay with Devin's family and had a lot of fun. We celebrated Christmas with them and had a good time! We spent New Year's eve together having yummy soup and playing games. We had a Bunko tournament, I had never played Bunko and had a really fun time! I actually ended up winning, as you know I am really competitive, so I was pretty excited! June and Nicole even had prizes, it was a fun night! It was so fun to be able to have a child this Christmas Season and celebrate with her. We loved watching her eyes light up and her excitement over the little things. We had a great holiday and feel so blessed!
