The Past Few Weeks

The past few weeks have been busy ones here at our house and blogging has not been my top priority (I know it is a shock), so now I am playing catch up. We have packed and unpacked and moved up to Kaysville, UT and are pretty much settled in. And I can not explain how nice it is to have Devin only driving 15 minutes to work instead of 60, we feel like we have gotten 2 hours of our life back. We are really loving our new place and we are loving Kaysville, it a fun little town. But, before our big move we were up to a few things.
My wonderful friend Jena came to stay and visit us for a few days from Cinncinatti. It was SO fun to have her here and to be able to catch up. It was great to shop, go out to eat and just stay up late talking. Jena, thanks for coming to visit us we had so much, we can't wait for you to come again soon! And I am working on Sadie saying "Jena", hopefully by the next time you come!
We also celebrated Devin's first Father's Day! Sadie and I framed her handprint and made a little gift for Daddy. We had a fun day with family. I am truly grateful for a wonderful husband who is an amazing dad, I am glad we had a day to show him how much we appreciate him. We are also grateful for our wonderful fathers and grandfathers, we love you.

And of course Sadie has gotten even bigger and more active over the past few weeks. As you can tell from the picture above she is loving it at our new home. She is 8 months old now and is into everything. She loves talking (pretty much "Da Da" is the word of choice) and inching along on her little belly to get where she wants to go. Her inch worm crawl is the topic of conversation every where we go, we love it and think it is the cutest thing ever. She is starting to get on her knees and rock and move a few steps with her knees, but if she really wants to get somewhere quickly that is where the inch worm comes in handy. She is also pulling her self up to standing using furniture. She LOVES the coffee table and many days she spends hours standing up and then falling down on her bum around it. She likes to stand up and yell to us proudly. We got a gate for the stairs at our new home, but she really has taken no interest in them yet, she does have an interest though in everything else she is not suppose to have like paper, pens, my keys, cords, etc. And our new favorite thing is chewing on her crib with her two little teeth. We seriously can not believe all of the damage she has done with just two teeth! She is still a good little eater and is loving trying new food. When she is excited about something we know it because she moves her arms up and down really fast and talks, it is so fun. She is now also bathing in the big girl tub and loves it. She flips from her back to her belly and then to her back again, we are getting a little wetter than before, but it is completely worth it to see the joy on her face. We are loving watching her personality come alive. We LOVE you Sadie!

Our Anniversary Weekend

May 25th was our 2nd anniversary, but we celebrated this past weekend and it was wonderful!! We had so much fun just being together We were so grateful to Devin's parents for taking Sadie for the night and letting us have a night together. We went up to Midway, UT to the Johnson Mill Bed and Breakfast, it is a beautiful Bed and Breakfast. We had a really pretty room that had vaulted ceilings and this big stone fireplace. Here is a picture of Devin in front of the fireplace.
Here is a picture of the old mill, that night that we got there we went on a little hike around the grounds, it was gorgeous. We saw a lot of wildflowers and were able to watch three deer playing only about 15 feet from where we were standing. It was a wonderful weekend and I am so grateful to be married to my best friend. Thank you for picking me Devin, I love you!!!Not the best picture of us, but the only one I took of us together! After we left the Johnson Mill that next morning we were able to go to the Provo Temple for a few hours. I had never been inside before and what a beautiful temple it is, I was grateful for the blessing to go there and do temple work. We did sealings and reminded me of the feelings I had on the day that Devin and I were married and sealed together forever, I am truly grateful to spend forever with Devin.

On Saturday after we were able to spend time with Devin's family celebrating Devin's dad and our nephew Ryder's birthday's. We had a fun picnic and played a round of miniature golf. Above is a picture of Sadie and I at the picnic and below is the cute birthday boy! It was a fun afternoon.

7 Months Old - Where has the time gone?

Sadie is now 7 months old and I can not believe it, where has the time gone? What a little wiggler we have on our hands! She wants to be on the move 24 hours a day, she has started to roll to get where she wants to go. And just this last week she has started to inch along like a little worm and get on her hands and knees and rock! I do not know how long it will be before she is crawling, but I just hope we move before that happens so that I can baby proof before she is really moving. I have had to set up a few barricades because she has discovered things like the fireplace, I really don't feel like cleaning black ash off her everyday so I had to fix that problem! I love watching her learn that she can do new things and it has so been really fun watching her discover that she can get to where she wants to go by herself. She loves to talk and hear her own voice, right now "Da Da" is her favorite thing to say and "Na Na Na" when she is mad. Devin is loving the "Da Da" and I am wishing for "Ma Ma" soon. She loves baby food and has not turned anything away yet and I am grateful. Her two bottom middle teeth has broken through and are working their way up, she loves to grab the spoon with them now. She loves to be thrown in the air, suprised and tickled! We are loving our sweet girl and are grateful for her everyday! She kept trying to knock the laundry basket over to get into it, so I helped her out and put her in. She loved it and was happy in there for half an hour!

Loving her stroller and taking walks! Now that she is strong enough to lean forward, sucking on the tray is her favorite walk activity.

Cute daddy and daughter picture! Devin with his cute new hair!

Sadie + Swings = LOVE

We have been going to the park and taking walks quite a bit lately. The other day we went to a park that we had not been to in a while and I noticed that they have the baby swings. I thought we would give it a try and she LOVED it (loved is an understatement!). So last night Devin and I took her there and we got some really cute pictures that really capture how she feels about swinging! She laughed, kicked her legs, and yelled when it was time to go home (I didn't think that crying when you leave some place started until at least 1, but I guess I was wrong!)

On Sunday we went to Wheeler Farm and had a picnic, it was really fun. Here's a cute picture of Sadie and Devin playing.

Sadie Takes A Swim!

Valerie, Carson and Brynnley invited us to go swimming and we are really glad that we went. My parents decided to come along too to watch all of the grandkids swimming. Sadie loved the water, I thought she probably would because she loves the bath, but I did not imagine she would like it as much as she did. I put her on her back and she would kick her legs, I put her on her belly and she would kick her legs (and try to drink the water, which I quickly stopped!!), she was like a little fish! Val even taught me how to put safely get her comfortable with going under the water, so that they are not scared when they are older, it didn't even seem to really phase her. I can't wait to take Devin back to see our little fishy, and isn't she so cute in her suit! Above is a picture of her in the little water swings.

Of course I had to get a picture of us before the big swim!

This is not a swimming picture, but I had to put it in. This is Sadie's new favorite position, I tried for weeks to get a picture of it and I finally did. Her toes sure taste good!
Lately she has been quite the little mover and while I was making dinner yesterday this is where I found her. She had rolled under the coffee table and was SO proud of herself, she was talking, kicking her legs and laughing. Her expression was like, "Hey Mom, look what I did!" What a cutie, I had to get a picture!

My First Mother's Day

I have wanted to be a mom for as long as I can remember and this mother's day I felt so blessed! Ever since Sadie was born I have felt truly honored to be a mother and ecspecially to be her mother. Devin made the day really special for me. A few weeks ago we got a new couch, which we have been wanting for a while, but were just waiting to the right one to come along. We got an amazing deal (it was originally $1200 and we got it for $400 because they are no longer making this model anymore, so the store no longer wants it on their floor) at Gardener Village, it is so pretty and so comfortable, we love it! So the couch was my mother's day, tax return money and our anniversary gift, which I am really happy about! But on mother's day morning Devin and Sadie gave me a sweet card with Sadie's hand traced and the movie Marley and Me. Then all day Devin treated me like a queen, making meals for me, cleaning up dishes after me, changing every diaper of Sadie's and the list goes on, I felt really special. Thank you sweetie for making me feel so special on that day and everyday! When we were sitting at church, I looked around and looked at my little family and I felt so proud to be a mother and wife. I have such a wonderful life and I love it!! I am also really grateful for a wonderful mother and mother-in-law who are such good examples to me of amazing mothers. Thank you for all you do! So I had a wonderful, happy, perfect first Mother's Day.

The new couch!

I love the suttle floral design in the fabric.

Sadie is 6 Months!!

Sadie, you are 6 months old and I can not believe it! Time has flown by so quickly and as we went to your doctos appointment yesterday I realized what a big girl you really are becoming. You are now 16 pounds 9 oz (60th percentile) and 27 inches (88th percentile) long, I can't believe that you are so tall! You are now rolling over from your back to your stomach and wiggling your way around. You sometimes forget how to get back over to your back and yell to me until I come and flip you back over. You loving playing with your toys and ecspecially love chewing on all of your toys; your favorites are your rings, your stacking cups, the vibrating star and the telephone. You love my hair and get mad if you can not pull on it! Your mobile in your crib still always makes you smile, but you have learned how to grab the animals and stop them from going around in circles, you think it is so funny, I think it might be time to put it away because you are so strong you could break it! You also think that being bounced around, thrown up in the air or eating your belly is funny (ecspecially when Daddy does it)! We love your little laugh and your sweet voice, it makes us smile. You are starting to sit up all by yourself without me having to be right behind you (though every once in a while you loose your balance and so I surround you with pillows so that the fall isn't as hard). You have also started to eat rice cereal and love every bite of it. I love watching you every minute of the day, I love watching you discover life and see everything for the first time. I love being your mom and want you to stay small forever! What an amazing and special 6 months this has been, I love you Sadie!

Love, Mommy (and ofcourse Daddy)
XOXOXOXOXO
