Our Weekend Excitement - The Hospital

Our weekend started the way I always love weekends to start, with a trip to the ER! On Friday night I was making dinner and cut my knuckle on a can. After about 45 minutes of Devin convincing me that I needed to go to the hospital I finallly decided that we couldn't just super glue it (being a florist we get cuts quite a bit and that's what we always do, so I thought we could just glue it) and that I needed to go to the hospital. There was no one else waiting when we got to the there so luckily they got us right in. The nurse said we were lucky we came tonight and not last night because at the same time yesterday there was a 2 hour wait and a fight broke out that involved the police, I was grateful that we didn't have to subject Sadie to a hospital fight! After a tetnus shot, painful numbing shots into my cut and three stiches later we were on our way home.
Here I am with my original wrap, I thought I looked like a burn victim, but I did get out of dirty diapers for the weekend, thanks Dev!
Here is my finger now, I get my stiches out in 8 days. I truly am grateful for modern medicine and for insurance. I am grateful that Devin is smarter than me and made me realize that I needed to go to the hospital. The doctor said that the knuckle is a hard to heal area and it would have taken a really long time to heal if I had glued it.

And of course we always need pictures of Sadie, so here is the face I always get now when I bring out the camera. That is her concentrated face, she is checking out the camera. Though it isn't a smile I still think she looks pretty cute!

Girls Trip To Seattle

My mom, Sadie and I took a little trip last week to Seattle and had SO much fun! We went to go visit our friends the Gamblins and had a blast just being together. We did a little shopping, a lot of eating, and a lot of talking - it was fun to have some girl time. We went to the tulip farm, which I loved and I got some beautiful tulips and daffodils (they are so cheap at the farm, I wish I lived there so that I could get them every week) that are filling my house and really making me anxious for spring. Above is a picture of my Mom, Sadie, and Jeri outside by the pool behind their house, Mt. Rainer is in the background, but I got their heads in the way when I took the picture.
Here is the view from their house, isn't it beautiful! I love Seattle, I think we could live there and be really happy, I love the rain and it is so green. Now I just have to convince Devin.

Sadie is an amazing little traveler, she was great!

I love this picture of my mom and Sadie, I love that they both have their mouths open. Grandma and Sadie did some good bonding on this trip, they were best buds by the end of the trip. Thanks mom for all of your help and a fun time, we love you!

I think this picture is really cute of Sadie in Jeri's big sink in her laundry room. It was the perfect size tub for Sadie and she loved it. She was like a little fish, kicking her legs and splashing with her arms.
We had a WONDERFUL trip and I am now trying to get my house back in order, do the laundry and get ready for my enrichment activity on Wednesday - back to reality!

4 Months Old

Sadie was 4 months old a couple of weeks ago, but life has been busy and we went to Seattle, but I wanted to make sure to blog about it. She is 13 pounds 8 ounces (43rd percentile), 25 inches for height (74th percentile), and 16 1/3 inches for her head (63rd percentile). She is a healthy little girl, who would have thought that I would have a tall baby!!

As you can tell by the spit on her face she loves, loves, loves sucking on her hands, and in the picture below you can see her doing it! You can usually find me with a burp cloth! Lately it is really hard to get a picture of her smiling, she is either sucking on her hands or she is really concerned with the camera and so I can not get her to look at me so that I can make her smile. But I promise you she is smiling and has started to giggle and laugh all of the time. She is ticklish on her little feet and her legs. I think her laugh is the cutest thing I have ever heard, it instantly brings a smile to my face. She so close to rolling over from her back to her stomach, she has started to even kick her one leg to see if she can get the momentum to roll over. I think she will any day now!

We have started to realize that she is a studier. She really studies people before she becomes comfortable with them, she will just stare until she decides she is ready to give you a smile. She loves watching people go by and just watching the world. As you can tell from the picture above her hair is coming in and it sticks straight up, we love it. She loves to talk and pretty much just yell out loud, lately she loves to lay on her back with her fingers in her mouth and just yell and hear her own voice. When she wakes up she will talk to herself and then you can tell when she is ready for us to come in because she will be talking then let out a little yell and then go back to talking. I feel like she is yelling, "Hey Mom, I am in here, come play!" Then when I go in her room I get the biggest smile, like she is saying, "You heard me!" We are loving this age and often I tell Devin, I don't want her to grow up, I just want her to stay small forever! We love you Sadie!

Little Love

On Sunday night we went to our friends, The Cherry's, house for dinner. They have a little boy that was born just a few weeks before Sadie. When we first layed them down on the playmat side by side they just kept watching each other, I think they were just surprised to see someone else their same size. Then a little bit later while we were eating dinner we look over and they were holding hands, it was the cutest thing ever! When we first set them by eachother he was kicking his legs and talking a little, we jokingly said they were flirting, so it was hilarious later when they were holding hands! Sadly I didn't have my camera there, so I didn't get a picture, but I wanted to blog about it so that I didn't forget it. What a cute girl!

3 Months Old!

I can't believe it but yesterday Sadie was 3 months old! Time goes by so quickly and she is getting so big. Her favorite things right now are sitting on our bed with pillows around her and playing with her toys, she discovered last week that her hands are fun to suck on and she has not stopping sucking them since, she loves talking to herself in her crib, she loves playing on her playmat and tummy mat. She is rolling over from her stomach to her back. She loves when we stick our tongue out at her or when we make any noise with our mouth, she thinks it's so funny. She likes when we sing to her and do motions with her arms, her favorite songs are The Wheels on the Bus and A Little Canoe. She loves blowing bubbles with her mouth and making noise with her tongue. I love when she wakes up from her naps or when she wakes up in the morning and I go to get her and she gets a huge smile on her face when she sees me and kicks her legs. Whenever she is really excited she kicks her legs as fast as she can! We love her so much and are having so much fun seeing her little personality come out, each day she discovers something new and we are just so glad that we get to be her parents and watch her discover!

Magical Disney

We got back last week from a wonderful trip to Disney World. We had so much fun, it is such a magical place! From the moment we walked into the Magic Kingdom I was happy. The weather in Florida was between 70 and 80 the whole time we were there, it was perfect and we did not want to come back to the snow. Sadie was amazing on the trip, she slept great at night and took great naps in the Baby Bjorn everyday. Devin and I were able to get on rides and go to shows and parades with her strapped on us and the noise didn't even wake her up! As you can see from the pictures she was in the baby bjorn 90% of the trip and sleeping in most of our pictures. We had a great time spending the week with my family, it was fun to have everyone together. Thanks Dad and Mom for a wonderful trip!

Here we are in front of the castle in the Magic Kingdom and Sadie and I with Mickey at our Character Breakfast.

Pictures from the night parade, my parents with Sadie at Epcot (they had just bought her that little frog and she loves it!), Sadie and Brynnley in their matching outfits, and our little family at the character breakfast.

My mom and Sadie at the parade (Sadie pretty much lived in that hat the whole trip, so I had to get a picture of it in), our family at Epcot, Sadie and Devin hanging out, the girls and Carson on my favorite ride The Teacups, and little Sadie in her Disney onesie!
