Devin is such a wonderful Father and had a campout in the backyard with the kids the night before Father's Day! They were so excited and kept asking all day if it was time to set up the tent. After dinner we roasted marshmallows over the fire pit in our backyard, made smores and then set up the tent. At about 10:00 when Devin was having a hard time getting the kids to settle down he almost bagged it and came inside to sleep (the perk of camping in the backyard) but by about 10:15 they were both out and he was glad that they stayed out there. I got to be nice and cozy inside with Tanner!
Then we had a fun Father's Day on Sunday. Devin had his normal bishopric meetings on Sunday morning and then had to do tithing after church, so we had a lot of time to prepare our Father's Day dinner. I told him next year they need to cancel their meetings because Father's deserve a day off too! We set up a tee time for him to play golf the next Saturday, so we decided to make him a golf course cake for dessert. The kids got so excited about it. We made the green out of coconut, the sand traps out of crushed graham crackers and the water and flag out of fruit rollups. I know you will be shocked to hear that we went through about 5 fruit rollups to get the ones we needed. Every time I turned around they kept eating the pieces! We put a tag on the cake that told Devin about his tee time and it was done. We had a great dinner and fun weekend. Devin is such a wonderful father and we are so blessed to have him. We are so grateful to him for all that he does for our family. We love you!

Gateway Splash Pad
One afternoon we met my mom, Val and the cousins at the Gateway Splash Pad and had a great time! Fun was had by all and Aunt Val even bought a HUGE snow cone that topped off the wonderful afternoon.
Tyler loves Carson! He can't say Carson, he says "Harson" and we all love when he says it! There is not a lot that gets Tyler more excited than playing with Carson.
The cute girls!
Bandaids
Do you see the band aid on Tyler's chin? Band aids at our house are more like stickers, they rarely get used for things that actually deserve a band aid. But actually this time Tyler did have a cut that was band aid worthy. The great part of it all was that it was a princess band aid that he refused to take off for 2 days and told just about everyone that looked at him that he had an "owie." Devin tried for a day to try to get him to switch to a more manly band aid; like a cars or a super hero one, but he was not having it, it had to be the princess one. I know that this is not a significant event in Tyler's little life, but this picture just made me smile when I saw it. Tyler is such a sweet, loving little guy and this picture with his beautiful band aid just makes me love him even more, if that is possible!

Summer Fun
Sadie with her cute pine cone bird feeder! The birds loved it and Sadie and I had so much fun making it! I have been trying to do a few crafts with the kids each week, Sadie loves to craft.
Sadie and Tyler at the Splash Pad by our house. They built this splash pad at the end of last summer, it is only a 2 minute walk from our house and we love it. We have spent quite a bit of time here this summer.
Happy Doughnut Day!
Sadie and Tyler wanted to make a cake for Tanner for his one month birthday. They decorated it with sprinkles and marshmallows. Tanner cried through this whole meal and we decided it was because he was bitter that he didn't get to eat any!
The kids holding Tanner, something we have all been loving to do this summer!

The Zoo
Warmer weather means the Zoo! My mom has a season pass to the zoo and is nice enough to take us often, my kids love the zoo. Tanner is only 2 months and has already been twice. They have a fun Lego exhibit this summer and my kids think it is so fun. We are always get to go with our cousins which makes it even better. This last time we went we saw the bird show and Tyler LOVED it. He talks about it all of the time, he and Carson went up to the front and danced with a parrot that was head banging. He was so happy and could not believe how close the birds were getting to him when they swooped through the theatre. It was a fun day at the zoo.
Sadie's Gymnastics Performance
Sadie has been taking gymnastics classes the past 6 months and has been loving it! At the end of May they had a performance, or pretty much they had their class and we got to watch up close! :) My family was sweet and came and she loved the attention of everyone watching. Devin looked at me part way through and said, "She is actually good!" She walked across the tall beam without hesitation, and we laughed because she had to wait behind the girls that were nervous. She just looked at them like what is the big deal! Her cartwheel is getting good and she is pretty amazing on the bars. The gymnast inside of me was so proud! Great job Sadie!
Sadie's Preschool Graduation
Sadie finished her first year of Preschool the end of May and to end the year they had a little performance. It was adorable! She has the most amazing teacher, Mrs. Young, who she loves. She teaches them so many cute songs and I hear bits and pieces of them, but it was fun to see them all come together. They sang a bunch of songs with actions. Sadie's faces killed me and my favorite was her adorable bow at the end of each song. Sadie had a wonderful year and she can't wait to start back again in the fall.

Tanner David Smith HAS ARRIVED!
Tanner David Smith arrived to our family May 9th at 5:54 pm! He was 7lbs 1 oz. and 20 inches long. We named him Tanner because we loved the name, David is his middle name after my dad and Devin's twin brother David. If he grows up to be like these 2 great men we will be happy! His labor was a long 19 hours, but he finally came when he was ready and we are sure glad he did! He has been such a great baby, we feel blessed to call him ours. Sadie and Tyler love him and have been pretty good at being soft. :) He is eating and sleeping good and we are hoping he keeps it up. He was a little jaundice for the first few days and had to have a light blanket that went up against his skin under his clothes, but he didn't seem to mind at all. He is doing well now and we are glad his liver has kicked into gear. We are adjusting to a family of 5 and I have been grateful that Devin took the first week off of work, my mom was here (and spoiled and loved my children!) and now Devin's mom is here for a few days. Thank you to everyone for your love and support. Thank you for the calls, texts, gifts, meals, etc. We truly feel we have a blessed life! Here are a few pictures from the first few days of Tanner's life!

Easter 2013
We had a wonderful Easter weekend full of fun! We started the week off the Sunday before with dying Easter eggs, the kids loved it and made me wish that I had boiled several dozen more. Sadie was very particular about her colors and drawings, etc. - and they turned out beautiful! Tyler kept dumping his egg from one color to the next just wanting to use the dye! Such their personalities!
On Monday for Family Home Evening we had a fun Easter lesson where we hid eggs and in each egg it had an object that talked about Jesus's crucifixion and resurrection. The kids got really excited about it and I actually felt like it was an activity that was on their level, that they enjoyed and that taught them a lot about the true meaning of Easter.
Then on Saturday, the day before Easter we celebrated with some of the Smith family. Steve and June came up and went with us to the Kaysville city Easter egg hunt. Sadie was in the 4-8 year old category this year, which was a lot more competitive, but June and I were there to help her! Tyler was in the 1-3 category and made a killing on candy. Devin said all the kids ran for the eggs in the middle of field and Tyler just looked at them thinking they were crazy because the grass was covered in candy. Tyler went straight for the candy, that's our Candy Man! Then we came home, Darren and Diana and their kids came over for a barbeque, June had an Easter egg hunt for the kids and then we colored Easter eggs, it was a fun day!
Then on Easter Sunday we had a great day! Devin didn't have Bishopric meetings and it was really great to have him home all morning! The kids woke up nice and early to find their baskets. The Easter bunny hid their baskets and then hid some eggs all around the family room for them to find and they loved that. Then we had a big breakfast and watched a movie on the Mormon Channel about Jesus to help the kids remember what the day was really about. Then after church we headed down to my parents house to celebrate Easter and it also was my mom's birthday so it was two parties in one! We had a huge Easter egg hunt of 150+ eggs, the kids & adults both loved the hunt! Sadie was excited this year because she understands the meaning of money now and wanted to find the money eggs to put the money in her piggy bank! We then had dinner, opened presents and had cheesecake for my moms day! It was a wonderful day, with a lot of happy memories!
